7月1日 Pay it forwardSometimes The Simplest Idea Can Make The Biggest Difference。
“I don't know whether it will work or not, but let's say, why not give it a try?”
…… I feel so blessed here, people give me a lot of help and cares, very touching. I used to care too much about myself and my future, too focus on success and competition. I wouldn't say it is wrong, just feel if our parents and teachers in China can teach our kids more to love others, that would be better. I watched a movie called <pay it forward>, you can find it on imdb.com for preview and plot outline.Care about people and help them, it is very rewarding and pleasant experience. Here I want tell you an interesting story occurred to me recently. As you guys know, i went to Spokane for a National Eduation for Women program, from June 15 to 18. that afternoon right after that program, I went to a local bookstore( while my friends were shopping around, to me, I have big chemisty with books, always.) When I was flipping an English book about Chinese culture, out of curiosity, a gentleman came to me and we started to talk. He has been in Asia for 6 years , at service in Navy, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, etc. And has huge interest in Chinese culture. Seeing me holding the book of the art of the war( I picked that for my American friend), he said he read that several times, and we talked about that book and later moved to politics , China, America, society. I was thrilled to find that he is a big fan of Dao De Jing by Lao Zi, with 6 translation versions at home. WOOOW. anyway, very nice talk. Don't get me wrong here, he is with his wife, and we are just connected by books and cultures, and God(Morning chuch and afternoon bookstores is his regular Sunday, he told me). five mins after goodbye, he returned to me with a bag. "25 years ago, I bought this book, and this is latest edition, i hope you will like it." In my hand, a book, Tao Te Ching, 25th-Annicersary Edition."this is the gift receipt and, have a good day!" He returned to his wife, with his smile, disappearning in the crowds, before I could say a word( actually, I didn't know what to say.) I was shocked, by his deep understanding of asian culture and generosity, and more, appreciate the life God bestows, full of surprise and richness. I have been so blessed, and all the beautiful experience changed me to a better person, with stronger faith and strength. I am learning and enjoying, taking and giving.." PAY IT FORWARD!
至7月4号独立日,我会和朋友野营,烧烤和看烟花。

6月14日 the Joy Luck Club"This feather may look worthless, but it comes from afar and carries with it all my good intentions."
Yes, it is a movie about a swan feather, a movie carrying over 2 generations, a movie about mother-daughter relationship , and a movie about hope, value and love. 8 stories across 2 generations, 4 mothers and their 4 daughters. It is a big challenge to develop those stories in a well organized way, but Amy Tan made it all the way through in her unique form of vignettes.
I was so touched that I cried several times during the movie, simply because it reminds me of myself and I can feel the way exactly is. I see my problems in the reality, and it help me to find and define myself.
Each country has its own way to discuss the female topic, and the movie is always a good place to start.Besides this <喜福会>(the joy luck club) for China, I also recommend the Japanese TV series< 百年の物语>(the story of one century, starring NANAKO MATSUSHITA) and the Spanish movie<todo sobre mi madre>(all about my mother, directed by Pedro Almodovar).
Part of every woman is a mother.
Part of every woman is an actress. Part of every woman is a sinner. Part of every woman is a saint. Part of every man is a woman. Through Others, We See Ourselves. 7月2日 CBS 60 Minutes!!!!--The insider(1999)"The Insider" prospers in almost every way, shape, and form possible. The production is a masterpiece of visual style, moving performances, and penetrating dialogue.Based on a true story about a CBS 60 Minutes-episode in 1994 on malpractices in the tobacco industry, that was not aired because CBS parent company Westinghouse objected. Pacino plays the 60 Minutes producer. There is a realistic look into the behavior of journalists and their desire for information. It is so intelligent about revealing the most important information little at a time, always at the perfect second.
Professional, ethics, blief and family The dialogue is one of the brightest, most thought-provoking material in the film. All of the little quirks in typical conversation are captured, the stuttering, the spontaneous explicit declaratives, and the sharp remarks that add a scathing zest to the character's personalities. Here are some quoted from the movie:
Jeffrey Wigand: I have to put my family's welfare on the line here, my friend! And what are you puttin' up? You're puttin' up words! Lowell Bergman: Words? While you've been dickin' around at some fucking company golf tournaments, I been out in the world, giving my word and backing it up with action. Mike Wallace: Who are these people? Lowell Bergman: Ordinary people under extraordinary pressure, Mike. What the hell do you expect? Grace and consistency? Mike Wallace: No that's fame. Fame has a fifteen minute half-life, infamy lasts a little longer.
Bergman's wife: Get some perspective, Lowell.
Lowell Bergman: I got perspective. B's Wife: No, you do not. B: From my perspective, what's been going on and what I've been doing is ridiculous. It's half-measures. B's W: You're not listening. Really know what you're gonna do before you do it. "The Insider" inhabits a strong social message dealing with the influence of television, reputation, honesty, and so forth. The biggest ethic I think Mann(Director) is trying to get across is of modern morality: always do the right thing, follow you conscience, no matter what the cost. Then there's the film's most provoking issue: "Fame has a fifteen-minute half-life. Infamy lasts a little longer." 6月27日 Talking about The return of Natalie Portman -- "Closer"Love and love back. No other way around. Quote The return of Natalie Portman -- "Closer" 6月2日 Talking about Lock, Stock and two smoking barrelsfor my next movie. Quote Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels Show me the magicLove is the perpetual topic for movies. HITCH is just one among them. Alex Hitchens (Smith) is a self-proclaimed "date doctor." His job is to help ne'er-do-wells in the dating game stop messing up so they can find true love. He identifies common mistakes, suggests "meet cutes," and gives dancing and kissing lessons. Hitch follows the common motto of "those who can't, teach." His own love life is a void. The knowledge he imparts is based on observation, not experience. Hitch loved once, and the pain from that experience has kept him from getting back in the saddle - until now. Enter gossip columnist Sara (Eva Mendes), who captures Hitch's attention from their first meeting. A series of disastrous dates does nothing to dissuade the couple from the realization that they might each have found "the one" in the other. Actually, I find it similar with another one which I watched previously, called How to lose a guy in 10 days. But still a touching one. The most impressive is the line between Hitch and Eva. Delivering signals and intranslate it into right information(love code??). full of wisdom, kinda flirt.( One of my italian friends told me that it's gentlemen's obligation to make a flirt, and it's the art and shows good manners. I think so do the French, who are easy with those stuffs) They fired at each other and enjoyed. You can only have some feeling with someone with whom you can have a real talk. My friend told me it's called "chemistry", thanks for helping me find the exact word^^ Sometimes we saw ourselves in "Date Doctor"Hitch when dealing with love. When you are professional, you can definitely handle it well and easy. But when it comes to be your true love, you become word-dumb, hard to find the right word to express. People are afraid of getting hurt, so they choose to be professional , instead of being invovled. fortunately, Love showed its magic power. He used to tell his clients his Basic Principles: there are none.no matter who, no matter where, and no matter when. But finally, he realized that the basic principle is--- there are none.
No time for thesis, neither for exam. But have to find some, no choice, it's the game.We are ganna make it. aza aza fighting~~ deep late in night, bed time.
6月1日 Salsa Night in PureLast night, is Salsa Party night, in Pure, a tiny but nice place. The dance floor there is good, though a bit crowded. I was stepped by someone several times and stepped back several times. gee, Salsa music is always so inresitible, joyful, exotic and coquettish. The only thing you need to do is to follow the music and let your partner lead you. The Cuba music, the piece in the movie "Dirty Dancing- Havana Nights" showed again last night.(everywhen and everywhere I am in a pub, I can hear it. So popular recently). The dancing scence in that basement came to my mind--everyone is enjoying themselves, crazily. The dance is kinda life attitude. Someone told me this before, and now, I think, he is right. 5月30日 My favoriteDance, a great gift from the God! You make my life richer~~
Here are some dancing movies, pls enjoy^^ save the last dance Motorcycle Diaries The last one is not about dancing, but is one of my favorite. All about life, dream, passion and beauty! Irrestitible! |
